Knowing God Personally

Knowing God Personally

God loves us very much and He wants to have a personal relationship with us. Yet the wrong things we do (which the Bible calls sin) keep us from having a personal relationship with God. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Romans 3:23 (NLT)

The punishment for our sins is death - not just a physical death but spending eternity in a place of suffering and forever separated from God. But God loves us and He has provided us a way for us to spend eternity in heaven with Him and to experience life to its fullest through His Son Jesus Christ. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 (NLT)

Our relationship with God can start now.  Satan desires to make our life miserable, yet Jesus Christ wants us to experience life that is real. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10 (NLT)

Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 (NLT)

The Bible also tells us, If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” Romans 10:9 & 10 (NLT)

If you would like to make Jesus Christ the Lord (boss) and Savior of your life, you can pray a prayer like this:

Dear Jesus Christ, I know I have done wrong things; please forgive me of those wrong things. I believe you took the punishment for my sins and I know you are alive today.  I want to commit my life to You and grow in a daily relationship with You. I ask You to be the Savior and Lord of my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.

For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone, who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NLT)
