Here are some recent prayer concerns for the project posted on October 20, 2009:
- LITERACY - Pray for the Lord's provision and aid in finishing vol 6 of the Ngomba transition primer series.
- LINGUISTICS - The Ngomba translation team needs a better understanding of the discourse features of Ngomba. Please pray for the Lord to help the team (especially Scott) to find the time this coming term to work at it and also give them grace to perceive the important discourse features so they may understand them and apply that knowledge to the translation.
- SCRIPTURE USE - Pray for the Jesus Film in Ngomba to have a dramatic impact on the lives of Ngomba believers and non-believers alike. Pray for the logistics of showings and follow-up and sales of DVDs to all work out for the furthering of God's Kingdom among the Ndaa.
- Computer - Praise God for the replacement of the faulty desktop that kept rebooting randomly. Please pray that the translators would increase in their mastery of the use of this tool in Bible translation.
-PERSONAL - Please pray for health and wholeness for the Ngomba translators and their families.
LOCAL OWNERSHIP - The interchurch committee is still not meeting on a regular basis. Some leaders of local congregations have promised gifts-in-kind, e.g., food for the translators, but not much has come in yet. Please pray that expressions of support by church leaders and layman will translate into active participation in meetings and regular, ongoing support for the project in practical ways.
