Ministry with Wycliffe Bible Translators

Joe & Jerry

Welcome to our web site. We are Joe and Jerry Snyder and we serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators USA. Joe is the Vice President of Information Technology and Jerry is the Director of Member Accounting Services.

Wycliffe raises up resources for the worldwide Bible translation work (www.wycliffe.org) through its programs and through subsidiaries (www.theseedcompany.org and www.wycliffefoundation.org). Our field work is carried out by SIL International and other partners in many different countries. Together we have over 1200 Bible translation projects in progress. With others and our partners in the various countries there are over 1500 Bible translation projects underway.

But the job is not done. There are still 2286 languages that do not yet have any of the Scripture. This represents between 300 and 400 million people. These are the most marginalized people in the world. Most live in remote areas of the world where they are exploited for the resources of their countrysides and receive few resources such as educational and medical services. Does anyone care about these people? YES, we do. We want them to receive medical, educational, and economic development services but, most of all, we believe that every man, woman, and child has the right to read the Gospel in his/her own language and decide for him/herself whether Jesus is the one they should follow.

We invite you to join with us in reaching out to these people. You can pray for the Bibleless people and for those of us working to reach them. You can provide financial support for individuals like ourselves who depend upon concerned Christians for their income or you can support individual language projects (find them on the Wycliffe web site). You can join with us by becoming a member of Wycliffe or by working full or part time as a volunteer.

Orlando--Fall 2006

We do get out for a little Orlando fun occasionally. In October some friends (thank you so much, Larry and Nancy) took us to Epcot. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the outing. Here are three photos from Magic Kingdom.

In December our small group Bible study went to Epcot again for the Candlelight Procession. And again, those that work there treated the rest of us. To see a few pictures click Epcot Christmas.

Let us hear from you too.

The Greatest Gift
The second chapter of Luke tells the story of the greatest gift ever given. This is the exciting story of one congregation’s first experience with Luke 2 in their heart language.
