| In March and April information technology conferences were held in Cameroon and Burkina Faso, West Africa. This is the first time we have held IT conferences in West Africa. Fifteen participants from 10 countries arrived by bus, truck, and air to the capitol city of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The conference enables them to better support computer systems for the ongoing Bible translation task. All the sessions were conducted in French. My job was to organize the conference, while others, who were fluent in French, taught. Many of the attendees were meeting for the first time, but they quickly became part of the team. We had a great two weeks together. Just prior to the Burkina conference, IT Connect was conducted in Cameroon in English. I experienced a one-week travel delay related to a visa. The consequence of this was not too severe since two instructors were prepared to teach during this first week. I was able to teach in the second week, arriving just in time! Thanks everyone for your prayers. You can learn more at this web site location. http://vimeo.com/23648005 |
