In December 2009, Bill led a group called Africa IT Discovery in Nairobi Kenya. The purpose was to study the challenging information technology issues facing our groups across Africa. Building capacity for the future is our current focus. It was decided to conduct a series of conferences called IT Connect.
IT Connect Kenya was the first of a series of conferences for IT support workers. The conference was held at Kenya Bible Translation Conference Center June 7-18. Students came from East Africa nations (Ethiopia, Kenya, DR Congo, Uganda, Tanzania, and Mozambique). Instructors came from Kenya, Singapore and North Carolina. I am one of the teachers. Pray that students will be able to apply the concepts from the conference. We sought to assign mentors to each student so that ongoing learning can take place. Pray for all the details of organizing the conference. Subsequent conferences are scheduled for Yaoundé, Cameroon (March 2011) and Ougadougou, Burkina Faso in French (March 2011).
Dorie's Work
Dorie continues to make good progress in learning how to support our Wycliffe colleagues who are in transition to or from a foreign location. Often there are special needs that families require assistance with during their time in the US. She would appreciate your prayers.

Husked Coconut God’s Word in the mother tongue speaks not only to the head, but also to the heart. One Pacific island Christian said, "When we read the English Bible, it's like trying to eat the husk of the coconut. But you (the translator) have husked the coconut for us and opened it. Now we can eat the actual meat."
