The income we receive for our personal and ministry expenses comes wholly from the participation of the many individuals and churches who partner with us. Unlike a business where income comes from product revenue, we have nothing to sell. We operate by trusting God to provide through the many parts of His body, and He has faithfully provided for us for 20 years. We have three churches that give corporately, and they provide about 20% of our total income. The remainder comes from a large number of individuals and families who have either made formal support commitments to us or who give as they can.
We see ourselves as the just the mobile part of a larger ministry team whose goal is to provide administrative support to the Bible translation enterprise in Cameroon. Without these partners, this ministry simply would not exist. We would be happy to talk to you about being a part of this team.
What Partnership Means
The essence of partnering with the work we represent is to come alongside and provide something essential to its continuation and success, either as a one-time provision or as a committed continuing involvement. There are two categories of support: financial and non-financial. Each partner makes his/her own decisions about what forms of involvement he/she will have, as well as the extent of those involvements. Partners change or even end their participation as God leads them.
The mechanisms and methods for partnering with us financially are described here. Non-financial support is equally necessary, and we lay out those opportunities here.
Our Current Status (as of October 2009)
Financially, the Lambert family receives about 90% of the quota Wycliffe has established for returning to Cameroon. We need a number of new individual financial partnerships in order to reach 100 percent of our quota. We greatly appreciate your interest, prayers and gifts toward that end.
