Partnering with us financially
Money is what most people think of when they talk about "supporting a ministry." Here are some key points you need to understand as you ponder financial partnership with us. The following is a sub-set of the giving options detailed on the Wycliffe USA website. You can be a regular donor. We definitely need partners who pledge and then give a committed amount on some regular basis. These commitments enable us to calculate our support level and then demonstrate to Wycliffe that we have adequate support to be permitted to work. These partners are like the meat and vegetables in a stew--they provide the base upon which the ministry rides. If this interests you, please contact us. You can be a "one-time" donor. These partners give "one-time" gifts of various amounts in response to a specific known need or a specific leading from God. They make no commitments in advance, and their gifts often fill in gaps and provide for unforeseen expenses unknown to them. These partners provide the "spices" in our stew--encouragements, opportunities for special praise to God, and gratefully-received expressions of love. You decide when, how, how much, how frequently and for how long you will give. Whether you commit as a regular donor or give one-time, you control all the parameters of your financial partnership. Some give monthly. Others give quarterly, for example, when they receive investment dividends. Some give a single time each year, but they are regular partners because their commitment is used to calculate our support-level standing. You can give by check via snail mail. Mailing a personal check to Wycliffe USA in Orlando (accompanied either by your own note of designation or with a tear-off preprinted designation form from a previous gift's receipt) is the traditional way partners have transmitted their gifts, and it still works! You can give by credit card on-line. If you prefer that your gift(s) flow through your credit card, then you can give on-line right here on our website. You can set up regular automatic monthly giving this way, as well as give a one-time amount. The catch words here are ease and speed, and your credit card data is secured via SSL encryption. You can also do this via the Wycliffe USA website. Be aware that the 2.7% credit-card transaction fee will be deducted from the amount of your gift. You can give by electronic funds transfer. This is a popular way for committed regular partners to give, and it involves setting up an agreement with Wycliffe USA in Orlando to authorize a monthly payment of an amount you specify directly from your bank account. There are many advantages for you and us: - You don't have to remember to send your gift.
- You don't have to mail anything or spend money on postage.
- You avoid the error of giving more frequently than you intended (yes, it actually happens!).
- The gift is automatically given at the same time every month, easing your personal accounting task (particularly if you use home accounting software).
- The gift designation doesn't vary, thus avoiding errors that block a gift's tax-deductibility.
- The labor to process the gift in Orlando is reduced.
- The regularity of your gift makes for stability and easier planning on our part.

You will receive a snail-mailed receipt from Wycliffe USA for every gift. No matter how you gave, you will receive a printed receipt within two weeks. The receipt indicates the tax-deductibility of your gift as well as any designation you made. Each receipt will also include a letter of thanks from the Wycliffe USA Director as well as a tear-off form and envelope to facilitate any future snail-mailed gift check you might want to send. The next-gift envelope and designation form are not a reminder or solicitation for the next gift--they just makes it less work for you (and Orlando!) should you want to give again. You will not be spammed because you gave. Giving a gift may add you to a free, non-solicitous quarterly Wycliffe USA newsletter, but it will not subject you to a long line of financial appeals. Your identifying information will never be given or sold to any entity outside of Wycliffe, but it will be given to us so that we may thank you personally. We will add you to our own mailing list (for our Lambert Letter prayer letter and/or our email newsletter) only with your explicit written or verbal permission. You can "opt out" of anything you receive (except gift receipts, which are required by law) just by contacting us. You must understand tax-deductibility. By requirement of the American IRS (Internal Revenue Service), all gifts must be processed through Wycliffe Bible Translators USA in Orlando, Florida in order to be tax-deductible. Gifts given in other ways will be accepted with the proviso that you are willing to waive tax-deductibility. In addition, we have obligated ourselves to report all gifts for withholding of Wycliffe's own internal "assessment" (10%) for administrative purposes. You can give us a direct cash gift, or a check made out to us, but we must then run it through Orlando ourselves. Only immediate family members can legally give us limited cash or other gifts (Christmas, birthday, etc) that need not pass through Orlando. For the overwhelming percentage of our partners, sending gifts for us directly to Wycliffe in Orlando is much more efficient for everyone involved. You should think through several things before you actually give. In consultation with God (and your spouse, if applicable) - Decide the type of gift you want to give: a single gift (eg., to help with a personal project or an undesignated encouragement) or a continuing-support commitment.
- If you chose a continuing-support commitment, decide how frequently you want to give.
- Decide the amount you want to give.
- Decide the method you will use to give: Snail-mailed check(s), automatic monthly bank draft, or on-line by credit card.
If you are with us, follow these instructions to give the gift of the Scriptures to those who still need it.
