Our Latest News (updated June 23, 2011)
We have now been back in Cameroon for nearly a year after spending two years in the U.S. raising our support level and seeking help for our oldest daughter, Theresa (she has Asperger's Syndrome). Mark has kept busy with his admin responsibilities, especially in the domain of visas. Bonnie has been scanning old documents for our Language Services department. Recently, she was hospitalized with uncontrolled vomitting, but she received good treatment and is now fully recovered. Theresa then came down with persistent fevers and was just today diagnosed with a urinary tract infection. We have her on antibiotics and expect her to fully recover. Mark and Christina are staying healthy, but we would appreciate prayers against these constant attacks. We have added a new page of stories from the field that document the power of God's Word in the local language. Go here to read and/or download stories in MS Word format. Our latest prayer requests are posted here. Links to Wycliffe videos and other relevant sites can be found here. Also, we have just posted our June 2011 prayer letter where we report on our recent Branch Meeting, Bonnie's illness, and a cute bird. You can read all about it here. A substantial gift received in May is keeping our average support hovering around 100%. One-time gifts are always welcome and deeply appreciated. Soul Food People are truly hungry for God’s Word in their mother tongue. At the dedication of a New Testament, an African church leader prayed, “These Holy Scriptures are food for our souls and water for our spiritual life. What we have dreamed about in the past has today become a reality—your living Word in our language.”
