Transitions Ministry

Transitions Ministries serves the whole JAARS community (members, volunteers, and employees) as part of the commitment of JAARS Youth and Family Ministries to promote the well-being of those who help make Vision 2025 a reality.

Transition Ministries provides focused support to individuals and groups in the JAARS community who are dealing with various types of transitions and change.  Services include individual consultation, networking and support groups as well as customized resourcing and training.  The aim of Transitions Ministries is to help people make sense of life in the midst of ambiguity and navigate the undercurrents of change in life- transforming ways.

Individual/Family Consultation

Gail Hutchinson is heading up this new ministry as a Transitions Consultant.  She is available to meet with individuals and families regularly or as needed, providing a safe context for sorting things out and gaining perspective in the midst of change and uncertainty.

Gail and her husband John have been Wycliffe members since 1976. Gail has served in a variety of logistical and service roles, as well as in language work and cross-cultural training in Asia and the US. She recently completed an MA in Pastoral Counseling and Spiritual Formation. Through her life, ministry, and training experiences God has led her to a special focus on issues related to life transitions, cultural diversity as well as grief and loss.

JAARS Widowed Network

For those who have lost a spouse: JAARS Widowed Network (JWN) is a support network for those who are widowed (both men and women, recently or long ago).
Regular bimonthly lunch meetings are 2nd & 4th  Thursdays, 12 noon – 1:00pm, in Townsend Room E or G.  The format:  Buy or bring a lunch, or just come as you are.  This is a time for visiting informally, sharing concerns, and planning additional JWN activities.
