A visual journey for you.   It is a mixture of Cameroon, Michigan, and Texas.  I've put 2011 by the pictures that are from this year! 

Watching women read for the first time in their language is one of the many joys that I get in visiting villages and working with families. One of these women never even attended school, and has taught herself to read Fufulde, the trade language.

Here is Aaron, the student I worked with in January 09 doing his schoolwork on the mountain above his village of Gadala.

Michael, Aaron's father, has found that writing the instructions for chess in Bowal, and teaching people to play is a way to encourage literacy, get to know people, and learn the language! Here a group of kids are at the house learning how to play this classic game.

International Youth Day is a time of celebration for everyone in Cameroon. We got all dressed up and went to watch the parades of children marching past, traditional dances, and singing groups. With me in this picture is Anna, one of my students.

Therapy with horses? A young woman from Spain has come to do physically therapy with some handicapped children in Santa, and she is using the Jackson's horses to do it!

10 5th, 6th, and 7th grade girls gathered at my house one Saturday evening. Here we are on the balcony of my apartment building about to eat the delicious meal of tacos we made for dinner. They are just too fun.

Like a flower in the mist of God's grace, I feel the refreshing beauty of his love, while the cold chill of the world tries to overcome my security in the Rock from which cascades this peace.

Caleb encouraged us all to get wet by setting an example of one who would splash through any waterfall!

A lovely group of women who gathered at my house for a wedding shower for Remedy. Not a normal activity before weddings, but we had a lot of fun!

Every Friday I lead worship with a group of students. We had all worked in Africa, so we often sang African praise songs! What a delight.
