About Caryl

I came to know the Lord as a Junior in College and was introduced to missions by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. I served for five years as a missionary in Alaska and always desired to go back on the mission field, but God had closed the door.

Instead, God gave me a variety of job experiences that included broadening my experience recruiting, training and supervising both staff and volunteers. When over 10,000 IBM employees were downsized in our county, non profit funding was effected including my job. The state paid for job re-training of which I took 27 computer courses.

My heart for missions led me to introduce, encourage and mentor many people into short and long-term missions, with four known to be serving full time overseas. I also began the Hudson Valley Wycliffe Associates Chapter, the volunteer arm of Wycliffe that still is active today.

For five years, I worked for an adult technical school as both a Marketing & Public Relations Specialist and Resume Job Resource Specialist. I also was able to write and graphically design a wide variety of promotional materials from ads- and catalogs to tradeshow displays. The school was a Cisco Academy so I recruited both Information Technology (IT) students and IT instructors at tradeshows and job fairs.

Then God gave me my heart’s desire, by opening the door for me to return and serve on the missions field. For the past 26 years I have been involved with Wycliffe Bible Translators. I treasure God's Word. Now I am impacting people's lives with His Word by serving full time in support of Bible translation. God has uniquely gifted me to serve as a Manager of International IT Mobilization in the Information Technology Services at JAARS!
