Introducing the Lais

Name : Daniel (22 Aug) & Dominica (17 Mar) Anniversary (30 Sep 1985)

Children – Nathaniel in Grade 12 (13 Jan, 90) & Hannah in Grade 11 (22 Dec, 91)

(both of them were baptised by Daniel on 24 Jun 2004 after going through a series of Baptism Class conducted by their chaplain at Rift Valley Academy)

Nathaniel will graduate on 12 Jul, 08, Hannah will graduate on 18 Jul, 09.

 

Daniel has been working in full time Christian ministries since 1978 in Hongkong (e.g. Assistant General Manager of Tien Dao Christian Media Association, Executive Secretary of Living Bible (HK), Hon. Manager of Bible Maganzine, Hon. Executive Secretary of Swordsmen Club). He travelled extensively to over forty countries.  Daniel is the founding advisor of Student Fellowship of Caine/Wellington College, founding secretary of Cantonese Fellowship of University of Kent at Canterbury, founding president of Remember China Fellowship, founding advisor of Family Gospel Fellowship of People with a Disability, founding pastor of Australia Ling Liang Church, founding pastor of Bilingual Congregation of West Pennant Hills St Matthew's Anglican Church, Sydney, Australia.  Daniel & Dominica were co-founders of Ambassadors Multicultural Mission, Ambassadors Multicultural Chinese School, Ambassadors Gospel Reading Room in Australia, founding advisors of Kenya Chinese Gospel Fellowship and have been serving in several roles in Africa.  They have been missionaries of Wcyliffe Bible Translators, Australia since 1996, serving in East Africa since 1998 as Operations Manager, Finance Manager, Partnership Cooridinators.

 

Daniel was appointed as JP (Justice of the Peace) by the New South Wales Government, Australia in 1989, and was ordained in ministry by the Baptist Union of New South Wales, Australia in 1997.

 

Daniel finished his MBA (Master of Business Administration) in 1980, Postgraduate Diploma of Management Science at University of Kent at Canterbury in 1983, finished his theological training at Morling College (Baptist Theological College of NSW) in 1994, Bachelor of Ministry at Australia College of Theology in 1997, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Theology at Reformed Theological College in 2004 and North West University in 2005,  Master of Arts in Ministry at Australia College of Theology in 2006.

 

Dominica finished her Bachelor of Commerce in 1980, Postgraduate Diploma of Management Executive Development in 1984.   She has been serving in East Africa with Dominica since 1998 as Computer Consultant/Trainer and Finance Manager.

 

The Lais have spoken internationally to different denominations and mission conferences. They have a burden to mobilize the Lord's Great Commission and Vision 2025 to the nations.

 

Field and Target People Group 

70% of their time will be based in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania supporting Bible translation and literacy work there.  30% of their time may move around among the worldwide Chinese churches for vision sharing, recruiting and funding for Bible translation & literacy projects. On top of their work with Wycliffe, they are also leading some outreach ministries to the Mainland Chinese in Uganda and Kenya.

Dominica served as a computer trainer/consultant, as well as purchasing specialist.

 

Daniel & Dominica were born in Hong Kong.  They migrated to Australia since 1986. 

 

Daniel:

1987-97 Studied theology, planted churches & congregations in Sydney.

1980-1995: various positions in computer field, working in many multi-national companies like HP, Digital, HK Government, Australia Government, Telecom, Rexona.

1989 Co-founder of Ambassadors Multicultural Missions & Ambassadors Multicultural Chinese School, Ambassadors Gospel Reading Room in Sydney, Australia.

1996-the present: Missionary of Wycliffe Australia.

Current role: Finance Manager of Uganda-Tanzania Branch based in Nairobi, Kenya.
