Dan in perpetual meeting mode!
Dan was raised in a family with lots of missions exposure. Dan's Grandparents were missionaries in Japan and in addition to their visits Dan's parents hosted many missionaries in their home while he was growing up. Dan was initially interested in mission aviation and attended Trinity Western University (www.twu.ca) toward that end. Later he switched to a general Business Administration degree and graduated from Portland State University in 1979. Dan and Barb heard of Wycliffe's need for a short term business manager in Africa in 1980 and went to fill that role for what they thought would be 7 months. Now, 28 years later, Dan can't imagine a more fulfilling career. The highlight so far was being a part of the dedication of the New Testament in Sabot (Kenya) which was begun when they filled that short term need in 1980, freeing up a translator who was stuck in the job in the city until someone could come and relieve them.
