Cowgirl Barb
Barb was raised in a committed Christian home in Seattle and grew up hearing about the work of Wycliffe. Barb's parents were childhood friends of the man who served as Cameron Townsend's ("Uncle Cam") secretary. Barb was led to a saving faith in Christ by her Sunday school teacher in the first grade. Barb served as a counselor at The Firs, a summer camp in Bellingham Washington while in college. Her second summer there she noticed a young man (Dan) and a relationship bloomed. Barb continued in school and earned a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology. Four years after they met Dan and Barb were married and within a year they left for Africa. Barb has made homes in southern Sudan, Kenya, Portland, Seattle and now Dallas. She would never have imagined her life having taken her so many places.
