January 2012 Prayer Requests
January 2012 Please join us in thanking the Lord for: - Safe Travel: Barb and I traveled to Kenya for an extended stay with our Africa Area office in Nairobi.
- An excellent month of ministry with our leadership team for Africa in the Nairobi offices.
- Amanda passed her credentialing exam to qualify to be certified as a Professional Midwife
- A remarkably quick transition for Barb’s mom Ruth from her home of 58 years to a lovely independent living apartment. She is happy, healthy and enjoying a new lifestyle.
- The progress being made in hundreds of Bible Translation projects worldwide and the privilege we have to be involved in this ministry.
- Clarity for Amelia as she has decided to complete her time in Central Asia next spring and enter graduate school
- Hunter, Amanda and the girls completion of the first school term at Rosslyn Academy.
- The faithful regular gifts for our support that lifts us up practically as well as encourages us to remain focused on what the Lord has given us to do at this time.
Please join us in praying for: - Barb and I as we enter a new year with expected changes in roles, but no clear indication of which role will allow us to make our best contribution for this next chapter in life.
- I (Dan) have been assigned to a challenging project in my role as the special assistant to the CEO of coordinating our communication regarding the controversy swirling around the translation of scriptures into languages with majority muslim communities.
- The ability and stamina to participate in leading a change process that will transform our organization for more effective ministry in this new generation.
- Amelia has applied to a graduate program at the college of William and Mary in Virginia for the fall of 2012. Please pray that her application will be accepted and that this next step in her life will be clear.
- The establishment of a process that will result in the formation of a just and equitable civil society for the people of South Sudan, which became independent on July 9. Please pray for peace along the border between north and south Sudan as fighting and violence has broken out in several locations.
